Our Leadership


 John Russell (Interim Senior Minister), John Russell ministered to the same growing congregation for over 40 years, as God grew the church from 100 to 1700 members and from 2 to over 30 staff members. John's experiences make him an excellent resource for church leadership development, preacher training classes, ministerial and staff retreats, and consulting.John & Susan have lived and ministered in Northern Kentucky for over 40 years. They have two adult children and two grandchildren.John is an avid sports fan and golfer in addition to being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Isaac Flora (Emeritus Minister to Seniors), was born and raised in Kentucky and served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, mainly in China. Graduating from Kentucky Christian University, Ike began in ministry in 1949, serving churches in Kentucky and Ohio. He, along with his wife, Faye, was North Side's founding minister in 1964. Presently, Ike enjoys serving as North Side's Minister to Seniors, teaching a Sunday School class, and working with the missions and Sunday School programs. He and Faye have four children (one son, three daughters), six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.                                   

Matt Porter (Youth Minister) comes from a long history of loving God and loving Kids.  He grew up in Wooster, Ohio at the Christian Children's Home of Ohio where his father was the director for almost 35 years.  He loves music and sports and was involved in both while growing up.  He attended Kentucky Christian University where he met his wife Denise and received a Bachelor's degree in Youth Ministry. He has been  involved in full time, part time and volunteer youth minitry since 1993.  He is very passionate about his relationship with the Lord.  He is also very passionate about building relationships with his students and loving them and their families.  Matt plays the bass guitar and hand percussion and enjoys singing, weight lifting and watching football.  His two favorite teams are Ohio State and the Cleveland Browns.  He and his wife adopted a son in 2012 and he is enjoying the new responsibilities of being a father.  As a family, Matt enjoys riding his bicycle on the bike path with his wife and son.  Matt also enjoys old cars and hopes to someday own a '63 split window coupe corvette.  (It's good to have dreams)  Matt hopes that through his ministry, students will find a passion for the Lord and glorify Him whereever life may lead them .  "Love One, Love All" is the phrase Matt desires to live his life to fulfill.  Matt began his ministry at North Side Christian Church in March 2011.
