Our Leadership


 Andrew Johnson (Senior Minister), grew up in rural Scott County, Kentucky just north of Lexington.  Andrew joined the Staff and Leadership team at North Side Christian in August of 2014.  Prior to coming to North Side he served for 12 years on pulpit ministry in Highland County, Ohio.  He graduated from Kentucky Christian College in 2004 with a B.S. in Youth and Family Ministry.  He continued his education and received a M.S. in Christian Leadership from Kentucky Christian University in 2013.  Andrew married Ginger in 2003 and they have 3 sons, Micah, Malachi and Josiah.  Both Ginger and Andrew love their life with these energetic boys, while participating in sports teams, camping, and homeschooling.

Andrew is excited about serving, leading and ministering to the people at North Side Christian and to the community of Xenia.

Isaac Flora (Emeritus Minister to Seniors), was born and raised in Kentucky and served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, mainly in China. Graduating from Kentucky Christian University, Ike began in ministry in 1949, serving churches in Kentucky and Ohio. He, along with his wife, Faye, was North Side's founding minister in 1964. Presently, Ike enjoys serving as North Side's Minister to Seniors, teaching a Sunday School class, and working with the missions and Sunday School programs. He and Faye have four children (one son, three daughters), six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.                                   

Matt Porter (Youth Minister) comes from a long history of loving God and loving Kids.  He grew up in Wooster, Ohio at the Christian Children's Home of Ohio where his father was the director for almost 35 years.  He loves music and sports and was involved in both while growing up.  He attended Kentucky Christian University where he met his wife Denise and received a Bachelor's degree in Youth Ministry. He has been  involved in full time, part time and volunteer youth minitry since 1993.  He is very passionate about his relationship with the Lord.  He is also very passionate about building relationships with his students and loving them and their families.  Matt plays the bass guitar and hand percussion and enjoys singing, weight lifting and watching football.  His two favorite teams are Ohio State and the Cleveland Browns.  He and his wife adopted a son in 2012 and he is enjoying the new responsibilities of being a father.  As a family, Matt enjoys riding his bicycle on the bike path with his wife and son.  Matt also enjoys old cars and hopes to someday own a '63 split window coupe corvette.  (It's good to have dreams)  Matt hopes that through his ministry, students will find a passion for the Lord and glorify Him whereever life may lead them .  "Love One, Love All" is the phrase Matt desires to live his life to fulfill.  Matt began his ministry at North Side Christian Church in March 2011.

Lynn Stanek (Preschool Director), was born in Xenia, Ohio, and Xenia has been her home since. Lynn grew up on a farm with 2 older sisters and a brother, with interests in 4-H and her church youth group. Lynn married her husband, Steve, in 1977. Steve and Lynn came to NSCC with their two children, Jamie and Jason, in 1983. In 1988, a dear friend and elder asked her to start a preschool here at North Side. Twenty-two years later, Lynn says she's "enjoyed working with all the children and families and is thankful to have gained so many new friendships with all the preschool families." Barb Robinson (Office Manager), grew up in NE Ohio. She attended Kentucky Christian University where she met her husband, Gary. She completed her BA at Lincoln Christian College in Church Secretarial Studies. Having held a variety of jobs, including working as a children's librarian for both the public school and public library, and most recently as a Christian school secretary, Barb is delighted to serve the Lord as North Side's Office Manager. She enjoys reading, writing, gardening, and every opportunity to be with their grandchildren.
